Over the last six years Rob Roy has led the development of one of the nation’s premier network access points, the Nevada NAP, and built the fast growing Switch Communications Group, one of the leading telecommunications companies in the west. Under Roy’s leadership, Switch has been doubling in revenues annually for several years.

Roy helps create and communicate Southern Nevada’s unparalleled telecommunications and Internet connectivity while also benefiting as a primary Internet connection and disaster avoidance site for Fortune 500 companies and other major organizations.

Switch Communications Group is the leading provider of carrier-class colocation, disaster avoidance services and superior redundant Internet bandwidth products in the western United States.

Roy and his team have created the west’s most successful disaster avoidance and telecommunications facilities. The Nevada NAP has three sites and a fourth, a 54,000 s.f. state-of-the-art facility, is currently under construction. This flagship facility will move Southern Nevada to the forefront of America’s telecommunications cities.

Prior to starting Switch, Roy spent more than a decade in various positions of the construction industry in Wisconsin and Nevada. Most recently he was general manager of one of the fastest growing home building companies in Southern Nevada.

Roy was recently appointed chairman of the Nevada Development Authority's Technology Action Group (TAG), is a member of the UNLV MIS Department’s advisory board and is a director of the Technology Business Alliance of Nevada.
